Moldova’s Salons
Moldova’s Salons event will start in Bacau! The “Iulian Antonescu” museum compound in Bacau, the Union of Plastic Artists in the Republic of Moldova and the “George Apostu” International Centre for Culture and Arts in Bacau invite you to the 19th exhibition and fair of contemporary plastic art entitled Moldova’s Salons. Over 400 artists have participated and exhibited their work in the 18 editions that this event has counted so far, and the organisers have promised that this year’s event will be as successful as all of the previous ones were. After the private view session of “Moldova’s Salons” in the Alfa galleries, art lovers will visit the Contemporary Art Gallery of the “Iulian Antonescu” museum compound, the Ion Frunzeti gallery of the Union of the Plastic Artists in Bacau and the “George Apostu” contemporary art museum. So, the first day of the month will bring a lot of colour in Bacau!
The Days of Bacau are all set to start…
The Days of Bacau will take place this year too in the first weekend of October. This year’s festival will feature concerts every night, a fair of craftsmen, and a folk music party on Thursday, which will be devoted to the elderly.
On the very first day, October the 1st, as of 15.00 hours, Maria Salaru, Maria Tataru, the Children’s Place choir and the orchestra of the “60 plus” Club will be performing on the so-called Entertainment Island (Insula de Agrement). Locals of Bacau will also be expected to go see Compact, Talisman, Bandidos, Proconsul and Iris bands on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Concerts will take place in front of the local Sports’ Hall as of 17.00 hours; local bands and singers will provide the opening performances. For the first time ever, the Days of Bacau, which is organised by the local municipality, also features a fair of the craftsmen. The fair will take place over October 2nd – 4th, between 9.00 – 18.00 hours. More specifically, 50 craftsmen will exhibit their handmade products in the Community House square (products made of interwoven rushes or twigs, curing herbs, wooden products, adorned eggs, religious icons, pottery, folk costumes, furniture, adornments, textile products, candles, masks, weapons, cuisine).
Photo Arena 2009
As of October the 2nd, 18.00 hours, the 2009 Photo Arena, which is the “Annual Salon of Artists in Bacau”, will be open.
The most reputed photographic artists will exhibit their work up to November 10th, 2009, on the ground floor of the Mall Arena. Some of the exhibitors are Ioan Viorel Cojan, Dan Abalasei, Mihai Andoni, Titi Brosu, Eugen Grigore, Liviu Maftei etc.
Tudor Gheorghe brings summer and autumn to Bacau
On October the 9th, Tudor Gheorghe will be singing in Bacau! The Athenaeum Hall of the “Mihail Jura” Philharmonic Orchestra in Bacau will host a performance which is part of his "My seasons Summer – Autumn 2009" tour, which is part of the so-called "Season of the Permanent Beauties". Tickets for Tudor Gheorghe’s show will be available at the Athenaeum.
